Skills Monitoring Survey 2005 Summary Report. 

The report provides an overview of the issues connected with current vacancies, difficulties in filling vacancies, skill shortages, skill gaps and training from an employer’s perspective.

Potential Skills Shortages in the N.Ireland IT and Electronic

The report Potential Skills Shortages in the NI IT and Electronic Engineering Sectors – and Inequalities in Educational Uptake concentrates on inequalities in the uptake of Mathematical and Engineering subjects at secondary school level by gender and religion, tracing how they evolve through the education system and impact on the future supply of IT and Electronic Engineering graduates.

The purpose of the research was to investigate the supply of graduates with suitable qualifications for employment in the IT and Electronic Engineering Sectors, with special emphasis on the graduate labour market in Electronic Engineering where graduate shortages are likely to be greater.

This Report was commissioned by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) in conjunction with the Tourism Training Trust (TTT) to identify the skills and training needs of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

A Study of the N.Ireland Labour Market for Mechanical Engineering - Nov 2002

This study was undertaken for the NI Skills Taskforce as part of its remit in focussing upon 'priority skills'. The survey-based work concentrated on 5 groups, which were taken as defining mechanical engineering skills. Skill deficiencies, the employment structure of the sector and the balance between supply and demand, were all investigated.

A Study of Labour Market Conditions in the N.Ireland Electronics Industry

This report, the second report from the Northern Ireland Skills Task Force focusing on skill needs in priority skills areas, it assesses the balance between the demand and supply for electronic engineering skills in Northern Ireland.
