ELECTRICIAN
Background
Stephen Hutchinson, from Lisburn, is an electrician with Antrim Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of Belfast. Here he outlines the work of an electrician.
"I knew that I wanted a trade when I left school. I had five As at GCSE and was keen to look at a number of possible jobs that were well paid and offered good prospects. A job as an electrician seemed to fit the bill. I was told by a number of companies to contact the Electrical Training Trust in Ballymena for more information. The trust was very helpful and gave me a list of electrical companies, including Antrim Electrical, that were taking on apprentices."
"I approached this company and was offered a start."
