Dr Peter Maguire is consultant anaesthetist at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry. He explains how he chose a career in medicine.

I had been interested in medicine from childhood, rating it as a good and well-paid career that offered great satisfaction from helping people. The work experience also showed me the respect that most people still have for their local doctor."
